A poem by me inspired by a painting I did at the same time:

Breeze filled air guides the soul—

To the Gift from Gaia for granted take.

Birthed by time & nature's flow

‘Tis the edge of earth's entire.

Stage of earth beyond it pose

A constant scene for human wonder

What lies beyond this sea of old?

Makes for thought in its encircle.

The sounds of crash tell of sea's eternal wake.

An ancient being-it long awaits.

The sites it sees-history of humankind it be—

The sea with it grows immense prudence.

Yet long alone-never w/ companion

It longs for human company.

It adorns itself w/ sky’s reflection—

With waves of marvel—

with peaceful site—

with hope it draws man's attention.

By aid of air refreshing

It gains success,

and thrives in sounds of joy & laughter

of revisit, and of it’s respect

'Tis the story of the sea

and its beauty for us we see.
