Dear reader,
It has been a good 3 months perhaps, since the last time I had posted any recommendation for songs and films I had thoroughly enjoyed to you. The reason is, I have been quite busy in life. I have been settling down in a big city, and taking in all its wax and wanes. It hasn't been easy. Socially, I have felt drained at certain points, homesick and lonely. However, one beautiful thing is coming into fruition, and that is Christmas, which I daresay is my utmost favourite holiday. The Christmas decorations are up on Regents and Carnaby Street--adding a burst of multicoloured sweetness and joy to the ancient paths. Verdant garlands cling on the wooden bannisters of cosy bookstores, and Nutcracker scenes envelope the window dressings of grand tea magasins at the heart of Londinium. The aura is warm, familial, mirthful, and full of gratitude.
As I weather through these tides, and begin to take in the scent of pine trees and hot cocoa, I cling ever so ardently onto the songs that serenade my longing pensive soul. They take the form of a few faithful melodies that have been brought back unto the light.
Otis Redding - White Christmas
Joni Mitchell - California
Avril Lavigne - Darlin
Norah Jones - Turn Me On
Craig Armstrong - Glasgow Love Theme (Love Actually Soundtrack)
